We want to welcome New Teacher Cathy Terrell to the 9GC. She is teaching Spanish for us. Here is a little about her:
I was born and raised in Oklahoma City.
I played basketball all through middle school and high school.
In 1984, I married my high school sweet heart and we'v e been happily married every since then.
We have two adult children, one girl and one boy.
We also have 9 grand children, 7 boys and 2 girls. They are 15, 14, 13, 10, 6, , 6 mos and 5 mos.
I love basketball. I am a huge fan of the Sooners and the Kansas City Chiefs (I lived in Kansas for 26 years until I moved back to Oklahoma). This is my 13th year teaching Spanish. I love school and I always have. I have 3 degrees at different levels, Business, Psychology and Spanish. I also love to travel. I've been to 13 different countries on 3 different continents. My bucket list is to travel to 6 of the 7 continents before I die. I have no desire to go to Antartica.
Welcome New Teacher Katie Stout to the Bixby 9GC.
"My name is Katie Stout. I attended East Central University and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Upon graduation I became a certified and licensed athletic trainer, and still hold both credentials. The past several years I was the Head Athletic Trainer for a high school. Just this past year I worked my way into the classroom instead of being on the sidelines of athletic events. This is my first year teaching and am teaching Biology.
My hobbies are: quilting, shopping, spending time with family, and binge watching tv shows. "
We are excited to add Ms. Stout to our staff and want to welcome her to Bixby.
New Teacher Spotlight!!!
We want to welcome Leah Heatherman to Bixby High School. She is splitting her time between the 9GC and the HS and we are so lucky to have her. She is teaching Biology for us here at the 9GC.
"I have taught for 11 years, but I stayed home for 13 years with my four kids. I teach Honors Chem, Biology and Chemistry. I have a 6th grader, a ninth grader, a Junior and a Freshman at OU majoring in Biochem. I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for 19 years, and we met through friends at Mayfest. I love to read, to garden and to go running on the trails by my house."

Students celebrated the end of the first week back by wearing Hawaiian shirts!

Chromebook Pickup 9th Grade- If you did NOT pickup a Chromebook last week for your 9th grader, you may pickup tomorrow at the MS from 10-12 or 4-6. Chromebooks will be distributed at the 9GC for all 9th grade students (including virtual SCA) on Aug 6th. We will hand out devices in a "drive up" setting. Parents and students will not be granted access into the building. Required paperwork must be received by 6:00pm on Aug 5th in order to receive a device on the 6th.
