Dr. Bielefeld visited Ms. Heatherman's Honors Biology classes at Bixby 9th Grade Center last week guiding her classes through a pig heart dissection. Thank you, Dr. Bielefeld for giving your time and expertise to help make this an even more engaging and meaningful lesson for our students! #attitudeofgratitude

These wonderful community "Spartners" were recognized at tonight's Board of Education meeting for their generous donation to the Spartan Nature Center at our West Campus. This donation has not only created beautiful trails throughout the area, more importantly, it's made everything accessible for students or adults with mobility challenges. Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s Board of Education Meeting Night, Spartans. As always we start with recognition. From students to teachers, administrators and tonight, parents…there’s so much to celebrate at BPS! Tonight’s Spartan Spirit Award went to Rachel Irwin and Leslie Haughey, two parents at Bixby East Elementary who dedicated many, many hours to their school when an unexpected flood disrupted our kindergarten classrooms during the first week of school. These two wonderful parents are always among the hands on deck at Bixby East Elementary but during difficult times especially, we want to extend our deepest gratitude! Spartan Fans, We have our first HOME GAME at Lee Snider Stadium this week as our Spartans take on the Springdale Har-Ber Wildcats on Friday evening at 7 PM! It is also Military Appreciation Night and we look forward to honoring our veterans. As always, we expect a large crowd. Last weekend's events were an unfortunate reminder that although we want everyone to enjoy the Friday Night Lights atmosphere, safety must always remain our one priority.
