Joining the fantastic 3rd-grade team this year is Miss Rachael Davis!! Miss Davis grew up in Tulsa and went to Oklahoma State University for college - Go Pokes!! Rachael has been a teacher for 7 years - 6 of those years have been in 3rd grade at one of those "other" districts in the area. We are so excited for Miss Davis to share her knowledge and expertise with us! In her free time, we can find Rachael enjoying spending time with her friends, family, and her dogs. Miss Davis loves traveling to the beach or the mountains. Miss Davis, welcome to the Spartan Family! We are SO glad you're here. It's a GREAT day to be a Spartan!

Joining the KINDER team is Miss Rachel Chesnut!! 🍎💙 Miss Chesnut joins the West Elementary after graduating from Northeastern State University this past spring with her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She is very excited to start teaching this year and begin impacting the lives of little learners! 😍🎉 Rachel has a passion for teaching young students and helping them find their love for learning. When Rachel has free time she is reading or spending time with her friends, family, and her animals. Drum roll, please! 🥁 🚨 Becky Dukes joins the West Elementary family as our new art teacher! 🖼️ 🎉Mrs. Dukes has been teaching art at Carnegie Elementary in TPS for 16 years. She loves helping kids create and explore the arts! When not at school, Becky enjoys reading, beach time, and traveling. Mrs. Dukes is excited about this new adventure and joining the Bixby West team! 👏🏻🍎 Becky's husband is a firefighter in Tulsa and together they have 2 kids, Abby (age 8), and Oliver (age 5). Oliver is super excited about the swings and pirate ship on the playground and Abby is anxious to meet new friends. We love movie nights and family vacations! Please welcome the entire Dukes family to West Elementary!! We're SO glad you're here! ❤️💙

How about meeting a new 3rd grade teacher today?! 🍎 Please welcome Mrs. Amy Devore not only to West Elementary but also to Oklahoma! 👏🏻 Mrs. Devore is super excited to be joining our school this year all the way from Illinois! This is Amy's 28th year of teaching. Mrs. Devore began her career teaching pre-k for 6 years. Then she moved up to teaching kindergarten for 16 years, and for the last 5 years has been teaching 3rd grade. 📚 Fun fact: Mrs. Devore's mom also taught 3rd grade for 32 years, so teaching is definitely a family trait! Amy has been married to her husband, Shane, for 25 years and they have two sons. Heath is 16 years old and will be a junior, and Chase is 12 and will be in 7th grade. In her spare time, Amy loves to be outside running, walking, or playing games with her kids. She also loves to go shopping, listen to audiobooks, and watch movies with her family. The Devore family is so excited about their move here and to be a part of the Bixby community! We may be more excited to welcome them with open arms! Welcome to Bixby!❤️💙

Joining our 1st grade team this year is Ms. Kaylin Williams! 🎉👏🏻 Ms. Williams is thrilled to be joining the Bixby West family and we may just be more excited! Kaylin is coming to us from Jenks Public Schools and will be starting her fourth year of teaching with the amazing 1st grade team. 😍🥰 Ms. Williams is a Tulsa native and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in early childhood education. Boomer Sooner! Kaylin believes in fostering a love of oneself and of life long learning through a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom community. 🍎🍏 When not in the classroom, you can find Kaylin reading, by the pool, at Cyclebar, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants with her partner Davis! Go Spartans! And welcome to the family, Kaylin!❤️💙

Today we have an introduction of a familiar face to many! She's been with us as a mom, a K assistant and now she joins us as a PK TEACHER! 🎉👏🏻 Introducing Mrs. Tosha Newsom! 💖 Tosha Newsom joins the West Elementary team as a Pre-K teacher, she was formerly a Kindergarten Paraprofessional. Mrs. Newsom is a proud graduate of Oklahoma City University and a Tulsa native. Tosha believes in teaching with compassion, making learning fun and challenging students to set goals and achieve them. When not at school, you can find Mrs. Newsom camping and hiking with her family. 🏕️ Mrs. Newsom is so pumped to be joining the Bixby family as a teacher and we are MORE excited to welcome her to West in this role! ❤️💙

How about meeting one of our amazing new 1st grade teachers today?! 😍🎉 Katie Salyers joins the West Elementary team as a 1st grade teacher from Union Public Schools. Miss Salyers is a proud graduate of Oral Roberts University and an Ohio native. 👏🏻🍎 Katie believes in teaching students to LOVE learning and become lifelong learners. She believes that all students can succeed and implements high standards for herself and her students. When not at school, you can find Miss Salyers 📚reading, crafting, exploring new places, or with friends/family! Miss Salyers is excited to be joining the Bixby family and we are MORE excited to welcome her to West!! ❤️💙

Next up for our introductions is Ms. Kristen Morrow!! Kristen was born and raised in Tulsa, OK and this will be her 20th year as a Special Education Teacher! She is the proud mom of two kids: Jaxon, who just graduated from high school and will be heading to boot camp in the fall with the Army, and Addison, who will be a Sophomore at Bixby. Ms. Morrow has two fur babies, Pete and Sage, who are both Labs. When not with family or her dogs, Ms. Morrow enjoys spending time with her friends doing anything outside, and she absolutely loves to travel! Ms. Morrow is super excited to join the Spartan family and cannot wait to meet and love on her new babies! It's a GREAT day to be a Spartan!!

Introducing one of fabulous 1st grade teachers, Mrs. Justine Milburn! 👏🏻💖 Mrs. Milburn is ecstatic to become a Westie and we are just as ecstatic to have her! Justine has taught first grade for four years at Jenks and will be starting her fifth year in first grade at Bixby West! 🍎🍏 Justine has her degree in early childhood education from the University of Oklahoma. Boomer! While at OU, Justine met her husband Mac and now they have two fur babies Tux and Penny! 👏🏻 Mrs. Milburn aims to foster a lifelong love of learning and grow self confidence in children by maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. In her free time you can find Justine reading, gardening, crocheting, trying new restaurants with her husband, hanging with friends, celebrating others, and eating lots of sushi! 🍣🪴 We're SO happy to welcome you to the West Family, Justine! It's a great day to be a Spartan! ❤️💙

Next up!! She's not new to Bixby but she's new to West! 🍎👏🏻 Brooklyn Collins joins the West Elementary team as a Kindergarten teacher from Bixby North Elementary. Brooklyn graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's degree in Science of Education. 💚 Ms. Collins enjoys all the small moments in teaching and the little things she does to help her students grow. When not at school, you can find Brooklyn spending time with her fiance and their two dogs while enjoying the outdoors. Brooklyn is so excited for the fall, as she will be getting married to her fiance Trey!! 💍 Ms. Collins is looking forward to the new school year and joining the West family!! It's a great day to be a SPARTAN❤💙

We've been busy this spring and summer hiring the most amazing staff on the planet to join our West Elementary family. It's finally time to make some introductions! 🎉👏🏻 First up, we have Mrs. Jen Harrison who will be one of our special education resource teachers! 🍎 Mrs. Harrison lives in Bixby and is married to Ryan. The Harrison's have 2 children, Colin and Brynn. Jen grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Central Connecticut State University with her Masters in Special Education. In CT, she taught K-2 special education for 6 years. For the last 2 years she has been teaching 5-6th grade special education in Jenks. The Harrison's are a lacrosse loving family and enjoy watching Colin play for Bixby and traveling on weekends with the travel lacrosse club throughout the year. Jen also stays busy with Brynn meeting up with friends from school and the Best Buddies program at West, they also love being part of the Special Olympics every year! Jen quickly became an OSU football fan 🧡when they moved here but still loves to watch and cheer on UCONN basketball. Mrs. Harrison loves reading, her Peloton, the pool, and spending time with family. We are over the moon to officially welcome you to Bixby, Jen! ❤️💙
