Happy Library Appreciation Day! 📚

Today we’re celebrating the soul of our library at BNI— Mrs. Kelly Zilmer!
From helping students discover their love of reading to creating a welcoming space where curiosity can grow, Mrs. Zilmer does so much more than check out books. She inspires imagination, supports learning, and makes every student feel seen and valued.
Whether she’s recommending the perfect story, helping with research, hosting Maker Space, or simply offering a kind smile, Mrs. Zilmer makes our school a better place every single day. We are so grateful for the passion, care, and dedication she pours into our students and staff.
BNI is lucky to have you, Mrs. Zilmer!!!

Today at BNI we celebrate our incredible paraprofessionals! 💙
Patsy Bowles, Glenda Bressler, Lindsey DeSirey, Jenny Tudor, Lisa Briscoe, Susannah Flake, Sylvia Tetley, and Silvia Strope—thank you for the countless ways you support our students, encourage growth, and bring patience, kindness, and dedication into our building every single day.

Check out Mrs. Osburn’s 5th graders as they explore “Why do some things explode?”! They used baking soda and vinegar in a closed container to try to make a fun explosion!

📋📉📏🧮
In random groups of 3, these 6th graders in Mr. Roberts’ math class calculated the volume of the Science Lab to the nearest cubic foot. They used our buddy “Cubert” (a 1-foot cube box) to help visualize a cubic foot. Each group had just a clipboard, a sheet of paper, a tape measure, and a calculator. They worked together to draw the layout of the Science Lab and gather the dimensions. They then performed all of the volume calculations to make their predictions. It was fun to see how well they worked together to take on this daunting task! All the groups did an amazing job with the closest groups getting around 99% accuracy!

Happy National School Counseling Week!
❤️🤍💙
Today we’re celebrating two incredible counselors, Stacie Lindsey and Megan Barnes, who show up every day to love, support, and care for our students in the most meaningful ways.
They are listeners, encouragers, problem-solvers, and safe spaces for so many. The impact they make reaches far beyond the counseling office — it’s felt in classrooms, hallways, and in the hearts of the students they serve.
Thank you, Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Barnes, for the compassion, dedication, and steady support you give our school community. We are so grateful for you at BNI!
