Summer Reading Challenge Roll Call!
Incoming 2nd grader Sam and his big sister Kate are keeping the reading fun going strong for BNE's Summer Reading Challenge! Every week, they love visiting the Jenks Book Bus and picking out a new book to enjoy. This week, Sam was extra excited to find a copy of their favorite — Gum Girl! 💥📖
Whether you're staying close to home or heading off on an adventure, don’t forget to snap a photo and send it to Mrs. Tusia to be featured! Let’s keep the reading going all summer long! ☀️📸🚍

Mrs. Tusia has been busy this week exploring bookstores and libraries all across New England as part of the BNE Summer Reading Challenge — and she found a gem she just had to share!
She visited An Unlikely Story, a one-of-a-kind bookstore in Plainville, MA owned by Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series!
Even better? She picked up a signed copy of one of his books to add to our library collection! 🖊️📖
Keep your reading adventures going strong — and don’t forget to snap photos of the libraries and bookstores you visit this summer and send them in to Mrs. Tusia!

📚☀️ Mrs. Tusia’s Summer Reading Challenge Update! ☀️📚
Zach explored Galveston and made a special stop at the Rosenberg Library — the oldest continuously operating free public library in Texas, with an incredible 125 years of service to the community!
📖 Cool fact: The Rosenberg Library isn’t just historic — it’s huge! It holds over an MILLION items including books, archives, and even historical artifacts from the Republic of Texas and early Galveston days. It’s truly a treasure trove for curious minds!
Way to go, Zach! Keep those pictures coming as you visit libraries and bookstores across the map. Let’s see where your reading journey takes you next! 🌎📷

📚☀️ Mrs. Tusia's Summer Reading Challenge is in full swing!
Olyvia stopped by a pop-up bookshop at her daycare and picked out some new reads—how fun is that? From pop-up shops to bookstore fronts to libraries near and far, we LOVE seeing where your reading adventures take you.
📸 Keep the pictures coming and don’t forget to send them to Mrs. Tusia to get your own reading spotlight! Let’s keep turning pages and exploring together! 📖🌍

Our next adventurers for Mrs. Tusia’s Summer Reading Challenge are Lily Kate and Everleigh! These two hit up our hometown library right here in Bixby together and are here to remind you that the TCCL Summer Reading Program kicked off yesterday! 🎉
📖 Read books.

Mrs. Tusia’s Summer Reading Challenge is officially underway — and we have our first adventurer!
Meet Zek, who found a library in Cherokee, Oklahoma and kicked off the challenge in the best way — with a book in hand and a photo to prove it! 🥇📖
This summer, the challenge is to snap a photo at libraries or bookstores around the world. Whether you're traveling near or far, let’s see how many bookish places our readers can discover! 🌎📚📸
Way to lead the way, Zek! Where will your reading adventures take us next!?

BNE is hiring for a Special Education teacher! Spread the word and help us bring someone to join our amazing school!

Yesterday we had our final Woo Hoo Wednesday of the year! So proud of all of our award recipients for receiving awards for showing friendship and perseverance, fitness, coloring, home reading challenge, and kids heart challenge!

These students did something amazing—they showed up to school every single day this year! That means they never missed a chance to learn, play, and grow with their friends. We’re so proud of them for being here every day and making the most of every moment. Keep shining, and keep showing up!

Don't forget to pack your love of reading on your summer adventures this year! Join Mrs. Tusia on her hunt for libraries and bookstores around the world! Snap a picture of a library or bookstore while around town or around the world this summer and send it in (mtusia@bixbyps.org) so your visit can be documented! We will have a world map in the library to mark all of the cool places we visit when we return in August!!
Happy Reading and Happy Travels!

Come get your yearbook!!!

Right Meow, we need your help! 😾📚
There are over 80 overdue library books lurking in backpacks, under beds, on bookshelves at home, and possibly being used as makeshift coasters. Our end-of-year inventory process has begun, and we are going to have summer break before we know it! Students with missing books will be coming home with a fun scavenger hunt to help them with ideas on where to hunt for lost books.
All books are due back to the library as soon as possible. Any books not returned will have fines loaded onto My School Bucks on Friday. Please contact Mrs. Tusia at mtusia@bixbyps.org with any questions.
Be a purr-fect student—return your books right meow! 🐾

If you are a substitute teacher at any of our schools, ESS and BPS would love to celebrate you on Friday!

Who has the most amazing district administrators with so much appreciation and heart for their staff?? BIXBY!!!!

Congratulations Bixby North Elementary for being named a Model School for the 8th consecutive year in a row! To say we are proud of our students and staff is an understatement!
ALSO, all the school sites maintained Great Expectation Model School designation, making Bixby a GE Model District 7 years running!
Help us find our books! All library books are now due. Please check around your home and vehicles and help us locate the last of our books! Thank you!

2nd grade Explore students have been studying the rainforest this year. Last week, they presented their rainforest building projects and animal slideshows to parents and grandparents. Congratulations to all!
3rd grade Explore students have been studying countries this year. Each student chose a different country to focus on this year. Students researched facts, created national symbols, built historical landmarks, explored Google Translate, and mastered Google Slides for their parent presentations. Well done!

Next week breakfast and lunch menu! No 2nd option!
