¡Feliz Día de muertos! Monarch butterflies (mariposas) are migrating to central Mexico this time of year. Thought to represent the souls of departed loved ones, they are a major symbol in Day of the Dead decorations. Señor Cox’s classes made origami butterflies as they learned about their significance.

On Halloween, Ms. Vernier's English classes had the wonderful opportunity to participate as “Mystery Readers” for Mrs. Ivey’s Pre-K class at Central Elementary. Her students prepared goodie bags filled with delicious treats. They passed them out to the class and then read “spooky” stories. They also helped Mrs. Ivey’s class with a graphing and counting activity. Her students really enjoyed it and we are looking forward to visiting Mrs. Ivey’s class again for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Monday, Oct 31, will be a pajama day!

Mark and Sebastian & Evan and Gordan competed against seventeen other duos at Enid High School. Teams from Noble, Putnam City, Oklahoma Christian Academy, Enid, and Kellyville.
Evan and Gordon placed 9th out of the nineteen total teams.
Mark and Sebastian were the A bracket champions which qualified them for the tournament's Ultimate Championship against the B bracket champs from Putnam City High School. Señor Cox’s Spanish classes have been learning about colors and huipil, a traditional Mexican and Guatemalan garment, usually adorned with colorful weavings and embroidery. These weavings are a way to learn about the skill and time it takes to make these pieces of art.
