Hello East Elementary Families,

Please see below from the PTO regarding Spartan Sprint!
Happy November!  We are in our final countdown for the Spartan Sprint this year.  Next Monday (11/8) we will run for our biggest fundraiser. We, as your PTO, are excited to help provide supplies, equipment, and enhancements for our kids' classroom and school. 

The Spartan Sprint is our way to give back to our teachers and our school. We try to keep the concept the same, but change the theme up from year to year to keep it fun for all of us. This year we are adding an inflatable obstacle course to the run and can invite volunteers and parents to help us make the event great. We are SO excited!! Any donation to this fundraiser goes 100% back to your kids classroom and school for them to utilize and grow. You can send donations now even before students run the course. 

Spartan Sprint Details
1. Run time on the course will be 15 minutes, that includes the obstacle course, and the other 15 minutes is for post run snacks and class pictures. The inside portion of the track is always available to any student who needs a less crowded area so they can participate-any student on crutches can go here and cheer their classmates on. 
2. We are going to be on the field west of the Intermediate Building. Parents and volunteers park on the south side of the field. There is a sidewalk (not the sidewalk right next to 131st) running from the neighborhood to the school and that will be the dividing line of the event and parking lot. 
3. Once the run is completed, students will go back to the ditch/holding area and get snacks-PTO will provide snacks and water. As students leave to go back to class, we will take a class picture. 📸
4. Dress attire: All the Spartan gear-students and teachers can go all out! The event is outside, so layer up and check the temperature. Running shoes, water bottles, beanies or gloves if your kids don't like the cold. Layer on the red, white, and blue.
5. If you are volunteering, you will be placed based on where you sign up for. If you are coming as a spectator, stay on the outside part of the run course. You will be able to get great pictures from there.  😁
