#WhatsUpWednesdayAtWI -5th Grade Students created Hoovervilles inspired by the Great Depression Era book, "Bud, Not Buddy" in a Project-Based Learning activity. Students have dived into the pages of the classic novel, "Bud, Not Buddy" to bring history to life. As part of their exploration of the Great Depression era, students recreated Hoovervilles, shantytown settlements that emerged during one of the most challenging times in American history. The Project Based Learning activity is engaging and fosters a deeper understanding of the historical events. Through this project, students have not only gained insight into the struggles of the 1930's but have also deepened their learning through critical thinking, collaboration and problem solving. Students have gained a new perspective about overcoming obstacles by integrating history, literature and creativity. #bixbyspartans #bixbywestintermediate

#WhatsupWednesday at West Intermediate....today is brought to you by our robotics Team! The BWI Robotics Team is working hard to get ready for their competition on January 23rd! We are building robots that can move through an obstacle course and put objects into goals! Every robot is made from scratch.
