Veterans Day Parade

It was another busy but great week at WI! Here is a recap of the week, as well as what's happening next week!

  • Monday was our Donuts and Dance Party for our fundraiser participants!! They had a great time eating and dancing the morning away with Ms. Carr!
  • Yesterday, McKenzie Deitz, Miss Tulsa 2022 and CI/BPS Alumnus, came to visit with our sixth graders. She shared a message of spreading kindness and being yourself. She will return soon to visit with fourth and fifth graders too!
  • Thursday was also Native American Heritage Day for 5th graders. This is always such a fun day of learning about history through games and activities played by the Native American children in the early days of America.
  • We wrapped up a successful Book Fair, so thank you parents for supporting it, and for volunteering!! We also wrapped up the food drive for the BOC. Thank you for your donations!!

Next Week:

  • Monday is PTO Spirit Night at Chipotle! Mention BWI and our PTO will get a portion of the sales. The flyer with information is at this LINK. If you'd like to order online or through the app, the instructions for doing this for the fundraiser can be found on the flyer at this LINK.
  • StuCo will be selling "Friendsgiving Grams" before school each day next week. They cost $1 and will come with a note for the friend and candy. They will be delivered to homeroom classes the following week.
  • StuCo is also participating in an adult coat drive for the BOC. Any slightly used coats (especially women's coats) can be brought to school and will be delivered to the BOC.
  • Next Tuesday is Election Day! Don't forget to VOTE!!
  • OSTP Test Score Parent Reports will be sent home with students this coming Wednesday, November 9th. Many of you have already accessed the OSTP Parent Portal to see results, but if you haven't those will be available Wednesday. If you have questions, please reach out!
  • We have a PTO meeting this coming Thursday morning at 8:30 in the West Cafeteria. Our own Mr. Rob Miller will be talking and answering questions. We hope you'll join us!
  • Our West Intermediate EL Night for our EL families is this coming Thursday night in the West Cafeteria. It begins at 6:00.
  • We will wrap up our week next week with our Second Annual Veterans Day Parade! It will begin at 9:00 am and will be in the Elementary car loop. It is a wonderful tradition we started last year to celebrate our many Veterans! Our Honor Choir will sing and it will be an awesome event. It will be livestreamed on Facebook, so watch it there!!
  • If you have a Veteran that would like to participate in the Parade, please fill out this FORM by the end of the day Monday (11/7).

Have a WONDERFUL weekend and remember, it's ALWAYS a GREAT day to be a SPARTAN!!!
