Congratulations to Bixby Public School's February 2022 Educator of the Month, Alison Beach Pre-K teacher at Central Elementary!! Mrs. Beach is an outstanding educator! Her winning nomination reads: I am constantly impressed and inspired by her both as a fellow educator and as a teacher to my own child in her classroom. She goes above and beyond daily to make sure all her students are comfortable with the new adjustment of full school days. She also puts in a lot of extra time to keep parents informed about what is going on in her classroom through sharing pictures in an app and very detailed weekly newsletters. It has allowed me to play an active role in my daughter’s education as I am able to talk about specific topics students are learning in class with my daughter and look through pictures with her so that she can tell me about her day. As a teacher, I know how much is on our plates and how time consuming this job is even if one were only doing the bare minimum. Seeing how dedicated Mrs. Beach is really inspiring for me in how I want to be for my own classroom. She loves all her kids so well and has an amazing gift of meeting students right where they are and helping them grow. My daughter can be excessively shy, and she always demonstrates so much patience with her and has helped her make leaps and bounds in terms of socialization. I also can hear how amazing her classroom routines are and how lovingly she redirects students who are misbehaving through listening to my daughter imitate her at home when playing school. I am so thankful for Mrs. Beach and the impact her hard work and dedication will have on my daughter for a lifetime! She teaches all her students to love school and all the parents how to be active participants in their children’s school life. Mrs. Beach is a treasure and Bixby is lucky to have her!
