Bixby Public Schools

Congratulations to Bixby Public School's January 2022 Employee of the Month, Diana Calvert, kindergarten paraprofessional at Central Elementary. The historical icon, Dorothea Dix, proclaims, “The duties of a teacher [or a paraprofessional] are neither few nor small, but they elevate the mind and give energy to the character." At Central Elementary, Ms. Calvert is a person who exemplifies this quote. She is a critical part of the team. She is kind, helpful, fearless, and an all-around great team member. She works with kindergarten students daily to help with whatever needs to be done to help the students flourish and be their best. She has the ability to know what a student needs without the student ever saying a word. One may find Ms. Calvert consoling a crying child, tying an untied shoelace, opening a milk carton in the lunchroom, or making sure the students know where they are going at the end of the day and making sure they arrive safely. She does all the things with a caring heart and an amazingly positive attitude! We are grateful Ms. Calvert is at Central Elementary. She makes us all a little better.
