BPS is excited to announce the launch of a new technology tool for families, GoGuardian on June 21st! Go Guardian will not only replace our former internet filter, Securly, but it also provides many new features for parents as well! For now, this App is available for students going into grades 8-12 who have a district-issued Chromebook at home!
GoGuardian Parent is an app that allows families to monitor their children’s internet access and customize use outside of school hours. Features include the ability to pause children's internet, block specific websites, and schedule internet availability on managed devices.
Not only can parents use the app to monitor their child’s activity on a school device outside of school hours, but beginning this August, they can also use this app to monitor their children’s personal device activity when signed in to their browser with their @bixbyk12.org credentials.
Our phenomenal EdTech Department has created a tutorial to help parents get started using this new tool! Please click here to review those instructions. When signing in to the app, parents will need to ensure they are using the guardian email address on file for their student in PowerSchool.
Parents will be able to download the app and begin using GoGuardian on June 15th, 2021.
