Spartan Families,
Unfortunately, the “warm up” today just wasn’t quite enough. It’s important for the district to ensure our campuses are equipped to safely welcome students and staff back to school. As you can imagine, this is a huge feat given the number of campuses and dangerously cold temperatures. This factor, combined with our ability to safely run bus routes, are the major considerations when determining the status of school operations.
All schools and our district offices will be closed again on Tuesday, January 27, with all students participating in distance learning. This includes the cancellation of all athletics, activities, and practices. Any exceptions will be communicated directly from coaches.
Teachers and school sites will follow up with specific details.
Looking ahead:
Should an additional closure be necessary on Wednesday, the district will remain in Distance Learning
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide an update by Tuesday evening regarding the status of school for Wednesday
Parent Conferences + SpartanU Academic Advisement Nights previously scheduled this week for BMS, 9GC, and BHS have been rescheduled to next week to allow staff to properly prepare for the events. See here for details.
BMS: February 4
9GC/BHS: February 5
Thank you for your continued flexibility and partnership.
Lydia Wilson
