TESTING FOR GIFTED SERVICES

If you are new to Bixby Public Schools and wish to have your child evaluated for Gifted & Talented Services, please contact the counselor or gifted coordinator for your child's site.

SCHEDULED TESTING

First grade students are tested during the spring semester. All students are tested unless a parent or guardian opts the student out of testing.

In 2nd grade, students new to the Bixby district are eligible for testing. The test date is typically in late August at all elementary sites. Students must return a signed permission slip.

All 3rd grade students will be tested in August unless parents opt out of the testing process. In other words, if you want your child to be tested, you don't need to do anything.

4th, 5th, & 6th grade students have the opportunity to test during the first weeks of the school year. If you don't receive a permission slip and are interested in testing, contact the gifted coordinator as soon as possible. Parents must give written permission for their child to be tested.

Any new student to the district should consider being evaluated at the beginning of the school year.

Please contact the gifted teacher or counselor at your child’s building to discuss qualification options for your child.
