The FAFSA opening date for the 2024-25 academic year will be December 31, 2023. There are major changes and improvements coming to the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. This redesigned and streamlined FAFSA form will be available by Dec. 31, 2023.

The 2024–25 FAFSA form will offer a new, streamlined user experience for students and their families.

  • Applicants will be able to skip as many as 26 FAFSA questions, depending on their individual circumstances. Some applicants will need to complete as few as 18 questions, taking less than 10 minutes.

QuestBridge National College Match 2024-25 -> Sept 26th Deadline

QuestBridge and our 48 college partners are committed to giving students the opportunity to dream big. Through the National College Match, students from low-income backgrounds can receive full four-year scholarships to schools like Stanford, Yale, Amherst, and Duke, so they can reach their full potential without worrying about the cost.​ The deadline for students to apply is Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarships 2024-25 -> Sept 30th Deadline

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 36th class in 2024, the Foundation has provided over 6,750 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $81 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. The 2025 application is now open here for students who will graduate during the 2024-2025 academic year. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 30th, 2024, by 5 pm Eastern.

Elks Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships 2024-25 -> Nov 12th Deadline

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) has kicked off the 2025 Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest.  The 2025 MVS application can be found online at Elks.org/Scholars.  The application deadline is November 12, 2024.  Here are more details:

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. The ENF awards range from $4,000 per year to $30,00 per year. The national awards will be announced in April 2025.

Oklahoma Elks Association awards another 50 one-time scholarships of $800 to $1000

Tulsa Elks Scholarships of $1000 or more are awarded to at least two local students.  To be eligible, the applicant must choose Tulsa Elks Lodge 946 as the sponsoring lodge while completing the application.  Applicants from the Tulsa area have the advantage of consideration for this award, even if they win state or national Elks awards.   

MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university next school year.  Please be aware that:

---Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are United States citizens are eligible to apply.
---Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks or affiliated with the Elks organization.
---Male and female students compete separately.

Legacy Awards – Legacy Awards provide $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of current Elks members. The ENF offers a total of 350 national awards. The application deadline is February 5, 2024. Please visit enf.elks.org/Leg for more details and the application link.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship 2024-25 -> January 9th Deadline

The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides four-year scholarships of $30,000 and extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, to highly motivated African American students who have maintained a 98% college graduation rate. American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship 2024-25

The Visionary Scholarship is a bi-annual award. There are five (5) awards given with each bi-annual deadline - with a total of ten (10) college scholarships awarded for each school year. Awards range from $1,000 to $2,500 each. Click here for more award details on award availability.

Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas Scholarships 2024-25 -> March 1st Deadline

Each year, we award up to $500,000 to students majoring in petroleum-related fields at the University of Oklahoma (OU), the University of Tulsa (TU), Oklahoma State University (OSU) and Oklahoma City University (OCU). Each OERB Petroleum Scholar has the opportunity to be awarded up to $22,500 in scholarships throughout their college career.

NEW FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR! Amounts for Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, Geoenergy Engineering, and Energy Management majors are as follows:

Freshman- $4,000
Sophomore- $5,000
Junior- $6,000
Senior- $7,500

National Army ROTC Scholarships 2024-25 -> March 4th Deadline

High School students can begin applying for 3 and 4 year National Army ROTC Scholarships the summer prior to their Senior year. National High School Scholarships pay for 100% of tuition and fees or up to $5,000 for room and board every semester, $420 monthly stipend while in school, and $600 book stipend each semester. Applications must be started no later than March 4, 2025 to be eligible for review by the Army ROTC National Scholarship Board for the 2025 – 2026 school year.

Jiffy Lube "What Drives You?" Scholarships 2024-25 -> March 10th Deadline

Jiffy Lube of Tulsa is providing their annual Jiffy Lube “What Drives You?” Scholarship Program in our area! Jiffy Lube will award one $4,000 scholarship and three $1,000 scholarships this school year to 4 local high school students – students simply have to write about “What Drives You?” – no grade point or test score requirements! It will be the easiest scholarship your students will apply for!  Four finalists will be selected from the 500 word “What Drives You?” essays submitted.  Each finalist will be guaranteed a minimum $1,000 award if they create and submit a 1-2 minute video that expands on their essay in their own candid words, visuals, etc.  The overall $4,000 scholarship winner will be chosen from these videos.  Last year’s scholarship winners and the videos they submitted are posted on our site! University of Oklahoma - Crimson Commitment Program 2024-25

The gap-filling program Crimson Commitment guarantees scholarships and grants to cover tuition and average fees for an OU student who qualifies and receives Oklahoma's Promise. Tuition and fees will vary based on major.

To qualify for Crimson Commitment for the 2025-26 school year as an incoming freshman, you must:

  1.  Qualify fully for Oklahoma's Promise. You must be:

    • Must be an Oklahoma resident.

    • Must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade.

    • While enrolling in Oklahoma’s Promise in high school, a student’s family's federal adjusted gross income must not exceed:

      •     $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children OR

      •     $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children OR

      •     $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children

  2. Apply to OU by February 1 of your high school senior year. OU will waive the application fee for Oklahoma's Promise students.

  3. Be admitted to OU as a direct from high school, first-time, full-time freshman.

  4. File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1* of your high school senior year.

  5. Enroll as a full-time student each semester.

  6. To qualify for Oklahoma's Promise and Crimson Commitment while a student at OU, your family's federal adjusted gross income must not exceed $100,000.

*OU is moving the FAFSA submission deadline from March 1 to April 1 for the 2025-2026 school year for Crimson Commitment eligible students because of the delayed FAFSA release.

No separate application is needed for Crimson Commitment as long as you apply and receive Oklahoma's Promise and apply to OU by February 1.

BEEF (Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation) Scholarships 2023-24 -> March 8th Deadline

It's time to start your applications for the 2024 BEEF Scholarships! 

There are 27 scholarships available at this time.  Please follow the directions closely when applying and creating your application packet.  You can apply for any/all scholarships for which you qualify within 1 packet.  Qualification requirements are noted within each scholarship description.  Please note that the deadline to drop off your packet at the BHS counseling office is Friday, March 8th at Noon/12:00pm.  NO late packets can be accepted.  PLEASE start working on your packets NOW.  Students should request any letters of recommendation as soon as possible and no later than February 8th.  Please request your transcript** by March 5th.

Frances Koop Parsons/AT&T Pioneers Memorial Scholarship 2023-24 -> March 22nd Deadline

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education assists in the administration of the Frances Koop Parsons/AT&T Pioneers Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship program was established through the AT&T Pioneers to assist Oklahoma students in obtaining their educational goals. The recipients of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 cash award to be used at an eligible Oklahoma career technology center, two-year college, or four-year university. This scholarship is open to first-time freshmen with at least a 3.0 high school GPA and whose family income does not exceed $75,000. The 2024-25 application is attached and must be postmarked on or before March 22, 2024. Applications without high school transcripts or income documentation will not be considered. Missouri Southern Legacy Scholarship 2023-24 -> April 1st Deadline

Do you have family members that are MSSU alum? Are you planning to attend MSSU after graduating?

You should consider applying for our Legacy Scholarship! This one-time offering of $500 is given to 20 incoming students every year. If students have MSSU alumni in their families, we encourage them to apply before Monday, April 1, 2024. Click here for details!

Dr. Bob Mooneyham Memorial Scholarship for Future Teachers 2023-24 -> Jan 12th Deadline

The Oklahoma State School Boards Association Foundation will once again present the Dr. Bob Mooneyham Memorial Scholarship for Future Teachers this spring to a deserving Oklahoma high school senior who plans to become an Oklahoma educator. Applications for the one-year $5,000 scholarship are due by Jan. 12. The application can be completed online at ossba.org/scholarship.   

To qualify, the candidate:   

  • Must be a high school student who will earn a diploma from an Oklahoma public high school during the 2023-24 school year.   

  • Must have plans to pursue a degree at an accredited Oklahoma college, university or career technology center beginning in the fall of 2024.  

  • Must have a minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA 

  • Must have a minimum 20 ACT or 1040 SAT score 

  • Must plan to major in education 

  • Must plan to be an Oklahoma educator

Horatio Alger Association Scholarships for Juniors & Seniors 2023-24 -> March 15th Deadline

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. Junior League of Tulsa Founder's Scholarship 2023-24 -> January 19th Deadline

The Junior League of Tulsa, Inc. will award two Founders’ Scholarships up to $2,500, which may be used for any accredited college, university, or technical trade school. The Founders’ Scholarship is for high school senior women that have proven an outstanding commitment to volunteering while demonstrating academic excellence. Simon Estes Educational Foundation 2023-24

The SEEF has been serving Tulsa community students since 1983 by offering need-based scholarships to help students attend colleges and universities all over the United States.  Although Simon Estes is a world-renowned bass baritone who was inducted into the Opera Hall of Fame in 2022, our scholarship is not a music scholarship.  The 428 former scholarship recipients are currently serving their communities in occupations including teachers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, and engineers.  Additional information on the foundation and its founders can be found here. Optimist International Scholarship Essay Contest 2023-24 -> Jan 15th Deadline

The  2023-2024 Optimist International Scholarship Essay Contest is open to all students under 19 years of age as of October 1, 2023!

This year's topic is "Optimism: How It Connects Us".  The contest application with rules is attached here, and entries must be sent to Lisa VanHuss (vanhmama@aol.com), in pdf form by January 15, 2024.  Only the essay and application will be due at that time The winner will be contacted concerning proof of age.  PLEASE check and double-check that you have FOLLOWED ALL RULES lined out on the application!  All essays will be run through a plagiarism and AI detection programs before winners are determined. 

Bixby Optimist Club first through third place contestants will receive $100, $75, and $50 prizes, respectively.  The first place winner will progress to the District contest, where a $2500 scholarship is awarded. 

Bixby students have made us VERY proud with District and Regional ($5000 scholarship!) winners in the last few years.

Microsoft Disability Scholarship 2023-24

This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors with disabilities who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and aspire to have a career in the technology industry. The scholarships are renewable – each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship. Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Program 2023-24

HSF empowers families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional students as possible.

Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded over $708 million in scholarships. HSF Scholars have access to valuable Scholar Support Services and, as funding permits, scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000.

  • It takes an average of 30 minutes for students to complete Phase I of the 2023 HSF Scholar Program Application

  • No essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I

Flavorful Futures Scholarship 2023-24

Men's College Scholarship 2023-24

The Men's College Scholarship Program was founded by a diverse group of fraternity alumni. They will award $50,000 in scholarships this year to inspire college attendance and academic success by young men. The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required. Student-View Scholarship Program 2023-24

The 2024 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. No minimum test scores or gpa average is required. No essay is required, and there are no application fees. The program includes one $5,000 scholarship, three $1,000 scholarships and ten $500 scholarships. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winners will be announced in May, 2024. The deadline to apply is April 23, 2024. Student Insights is a market research firm helping colleges and universities communicate more effectively with high school seniors.

This program among Southern states (the Southern Regional Education Board) allows students to pay in-state tuition rates at a non-Oklahoma college or university while studying in select programs not available at Oklahoma public institutions. www.sreb.org/page/1304/academic_common_market.html

Students who need a letter of recommendation from a counselor should first fill out a Student Profile (available in the counseling office). After filling out the Student Profile, students should give his/her counselor detailed information as to what is required for the letter of recommendation and where to send the letter once it is completed. Please allow at least 2 weeks for letters of recommendation. During busy times of the year in the counseling office, turn-around time may be 2-3 weeks. Failure to provide adequate information will delay the process considerably.
