ABOUT MRS. MAGUIRE

I am excited to begin my 8th year as school counselor for grades PreK-1st here at Central. I am originally from Wisconsin, and graduated in 1994 with a BS in Home Economics Educational Services from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. My first teaching job took me away from Wisconsin to Hawaii, where I taught Family and Consumer Sciences and Food Service in a school overlooking Pearl Harbor. It was in Hawaii that I met my husband, Brian, who was serving in the US Navy and an Oklahoma native.

After moving to Oklahoma in 1997 so Brian could attend Oklahoma State University, my vocations ranged from Home Economics and substitute teacher to stay at home mom. I also worked part time as an Alternative Placement teacher for Bixby schools, which introduced me to some of the wonderful colleages I work with today. As my children entered school, I also returned to college; earning an MEd in School Counseling from Northeastern State University in 2008.

I enjoy working with all the students, teachers, and families in our school. The best part of my job is having my own children near my work. My oldest, Brianna, is in 8th grade and Cody is in 5th. When we are not at school or busy with kid's activities, our family enjoys spending time outside-camping, fishing, and swimming.
