CHEER

Bixby Middle School and High School cheer teams competed at NCA Nationals this past weekend. Bixby middle school cheer traveled to Dallas for their first time to compete in the performance division. They placed 5th in the intermediate junior High division. On the final day of the performance, they hit their routine with 0 deductions. This young squad did a great job!

Bixby Red Team competed in performance and gameday junior varsity divisions. At the
conclusion of day 1 performance division, they were in first. They needed to hit their routine
the second day but had some errors placing them in fourth, but were awarded The Best
Use of Jumps Award and Superior Showmanship Award. Not only did this team compete in the performance division, but also in the gameday division. These routines include crowd-leading material suitable for the sideline or pep rallies. GameDay categories are GameDay Cheer, GameDay Fight Song, and Game Day Band Chant. Bixby Red placed 3rd in band chant, 2nd in cheer, and 1st in fight song making them the overall Game Day National Champions in their division.

Bixby Blue Team faced an unexpected challenge in the advanced Medium Varsity Performance Division. In day one, they had a strong performance until the end when they were faced with an injury. They were given a chance to rework their routine and perform it again for the judges. They had two strong performances but fell short placing fourth out of nine teams. We are very proud of this team for working together to overcome these challenges.
