Hello CI Families, we hope you are safe and well. Obviously this Spring Break did not go as any of us would have liked. In fact, three weeks out of school is no one's preference (except for maybe the kiddos!). However, we truly understand the need for safety at this time, and the most effective way to stop this pandemic is through social distancing, as you have all heard. It doesn't keep us from missing our students though, and it definitely doesn't stop us from worrying about them. Rest assured that plans are in the works to make sure meals are provided, along with other resources as allowed by the State Department of Education. In the meantime, the BOC was already providing meals for this week, and your kids always have access to IXL, and there are tons of other online resources as well that can be found with a simple Google search.
I am providing two links below, one in English, and one in Spanish. The resource is from the National Association of School Psychologists and the National Association of School Nurses combined, and it will help you discuss Covid-19 with your children. We are also posting information on the BPS Website and Facebook Page as well as the CI Facebook Page. Please continue to check those online formats.
For those that you may know without online access, at this point, no one is at school. However, that could change next week, and when that information becomes known we will share it in case someone needs to call with questions. Although I don't have many answers at this time, please feel free to reach out to me at bshaw@bixbyps.org as I am regularly checking email. Feel free to reach out to your child's teacher as well, although they may not be checking email this week. I also plan to post share a Facebook video for the kids early next week that I will send out.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and diligence as we work through this unprecedented time in our country. We will get through this together. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to help. And remember - it's always a GREAT day to be a Spartan!!
