Our second grade team was working hard to prepare for their upcoming reading assessment with Fast Bridge making sure they are meeting the needs of all learners.
Third grade teachers were brainstorming ways to implement meaningful assessments with minimal interruption to the learning process.
Fourth grade teachers talked about setting high expectations for kids and how to help them along while providing appropriate accountability.
Fifth grade teachers nailed down the details for their new organizational system for flex groups. Efficiency is key when sorting 150 students into flexible groups every two weeks. They’ve got this down!
Sixth grade teachers were deep in discussion regarding training on bias and analyzing school culture.
PreK teachers were working on grant opportunities to provide more for their kids! Growing dendrites by using both sides of the brain is their goal!
And finally, we concluded our visit with our Kindergarten team as they worked on making sure all classrooms have technology opportunities appropriate for their age level. They also discussed the tools they need in place in order to gain their certification in each component of our new reading assessment, Fast Bridge.
Teachers helping teachers is key to our PLC process. Also critical are the supports our administrators provide as they trek to each PLC group to ask “what do you need from me?” It’s a truly collaborative environment with many supports in place to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently in order to meet the individual needs of every student.
