Discipline
I use the stick method for discipline when needed. Each day students begin with an empty chart pocket. Upon each infraction, students are asked to put a stick in their pocket. Consequences are as follows.
Yellow - warning
Blue - lose 10 minutes of "Fun Friday"
Red - lose "Fun Friday"
Purple - bonus stick which allows the student to fill out a ticket and enter the weekly reward drawing
Generally, this is the only discipline needed to maintain a safe and positive learning environment. However, other forms of discipline may be implemented if necessary.
Work Policy
Unfinished work will become homework unless time has been allotted the next day for completion.
Missing assignments receive a "0" in the grade book.
Late work may receive a reduced grade of up to 10 points each day it is late.
Work that receives below a 60% may be corrected and returned in a timely manner. It must include a parent's signature indicating that it has been reviewed and corrected with parental involvement. The corrected paper will be re-graded and given a passing grade of up to 70%. This gives the student an opportunity to better understand the concepts and improves the overall score. Tests may not be redone.
