Dear Bixby Families,
I am looking forward to the 2006-2007 class. I am excited to
have the opportunity of helping your child explore and learn new things this
year.
This is my seventh year at Bixby. I taught first grade in
Tulsa Public for two years and before that I taught for a year and a half at
Miss Helen's Private School. Altogether I have taught for ten years.
I received my Bachelors from the University of Oklahoma in
Early Childhood Development. When I moved to Bixby, I received my Masters
from Oklahoma State University in Applied Behavioral Studies. Before
teaching in public schools I did private consulting work using ABA modification
with children under the category of Autism. I believe my education and experiences in teaching enables me
to provide a method of instruction in the resource classroom that ensures the success of
all students. I believe all children are capable of anything when they
believe in themselves and are encouraged by others.
I will expect many things of your child this year.
Respect and perseverance to succeed are a few of the most important.
I hope I can count on you to support me in the classroom. I believe in an
open door policy and that teachers and parents must work together in a
cooperative environment. I want parents to play an active part in their
child's education. You are welcome in the classroom anytime as a guest,
just check in at the office.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
I will do the same for you. Call me at school, 366-2690 leave a message,
and I will call you back as soon as possible. If it is evening or on the
weekend you can reach me at home, 369-8926.
Thank you,
Mrs. Caroline Nichols
