Welcome to the Nurse's Office
Hello! My name is Mrs. Brandy Harris. I am delighted to be the school nurse serving the students, families, faculty & staff of Northeast for the 2017-2018 School year!
My name is Mrs. Brandy Harris. I am a Bixby graduate. I have been a nurse for 23 years. I graduated from University of Central Oklahoma. I have two kids. My son is a senior at Bixby High School. He is also going to Tulsa Tech for engineering and taking one class at TCC. My daughter is a freshman at Bixby Middle School and is on the Bixby High School Dance Team. I am married and my husband is a software engineer. We will be spending our free time this year going to football games to watch our daughter and helping our son prepare to go to college.
Tdap for 7th Graders
Schedules will not be released to Middle School students whose immunizations are not current. (Typically there is a VERY LONG LINE outside of the nurse's office during schedule pick-up. To avoid this, get the Tdap in advance, and send the record to school with your child, or fax to me).
Please send any updated immunization records to the attention of the school nurse. Records may also be faxed to 918.364.5415.
If it is necessary for a student to bring prescription, nonprescription, or over-the-counter medicines to school, a “Parental Authorization to Administer Medication” form must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian. The forms are available in the attendance or nurse's office.
Medications must be kept in the nurse's office.
For the safety and well-being of every student, the parent/guardian is encouraged to deliver medication to the school if possible (as opposed to sending with the student).
Both prescription and non-prescription medications must be brought to school in their original containers with the proper labeling and your student’s name on the container.
Prescription medications must be in the original container, and contain the prescription label including the students' name, medication strength / dosage, date, and physician's name.
If your student takes medicine daily, please contact the school nurse. In order for us to contact you, it is extremely important that all telephone numbers be kept current. Please notify the office or nurse with any new contact info.
The district retains the right to reject request for the administration of medicines and to discontinue the administration of medicines. Full medicine administration guidelines can be found in the school board policy revision.
If you have any questions regarding medications at school, please feel free to contact me.
Vizavance (previously Prevent Blindness) will be conducting vision screenings on grades PreK-6 on October 30, 31 and November 1.
If your child has difficulty with the screening, you will receive a referral form in the mail. Please return the lower portion so that our records may be updated.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in screenings, please notify the nurse directly by calling 918-366-1715. Thank you !
