Bixby Buddies Club

The Bixby Buddies Club is sponsored by Ms. Row and Ms. Lytle. We are a group of students devoted to helping students with special needs/disabilities with their emotional and social growth. Bixby Buddies also can help any student in need of making friends and transitioning new students that move into our building. Bixby Buddies is now combined with the Peer Mediation Club and can help diffuse conflicts between students in our building. Bixby Buddies that help mediate peer issues will be trained by Mrs. Thompson. Everyone in grades 4-6 is invited to join the Bixby Buddies Club-you don't have to "try out" or be "voted in" to participate. Our only requirement is that you have a HUGE HEART and WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! To join students need to fill out an application/maintain good grades/obey school rules and serve as a role model for other students. Bixby Buddies will be involved in helping organize Red Ribbon Week and various other anti bullying activities throughout the year!

Bullying Help and Information

At Bixby North Intermediate we want every student to feel safe and comfortable attending school. Bixby Schools strive to be proactive in developing and implementing policies to support all reported occurrences of bullying. Written bullying report forms can be obtained in the front office or from any staff member. All reports of bullying are investigated by school administration. The district definition of "bullying" is aligned with the latest state legislation enacted (Oklahoma Bullying Prevention Act and Oklahoma School Security Act) to protect students from bullying. Though each state may have their own definition of bullying, many national websites can still be appropriate and helpful for parents to educate themselves and their children. More information on our school district policy and procedures (F.42) can be located online as well as the NI Student Handbook.
