I do have a personal life in addition to my professional life. I've been married to Scott Wilson for 21 years, and we have a daughter named Annie. She is a student at Bixby High School, and has a passion for riding horses.
And while I feel very lucky to do what I love - working with children in school - my family is still my greatest blessing. We are quite lucky that our extended families live near us, since they are very important to us, too. |  |
 My professional life in education started while I was still in high school and volunteered to work with students with disabilities. Since that time, it was my passion! I attended Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate degree in Special Education. Later, I attended Northeastern State University to complete additional certification. And most recently, I attended Southern Nazarene University in Tulsa to acquire my Master's degree in Educational Leadership...thus allowing me to pursue a position in administration.
I started at Bixby High School as a special education teacher, which I did for 8 years. Then I moved into the position of SafeTeam Coordinator, which I did for a couple of years. Afterwards, I believed an administrator needed to think like a SafeTeam coordinator, and worked as an assistant principal at the HS for 4 years. Two years ago, I served as principal at Brassfield...and I now happily serve in my second year as the principal at Central Elementary. While it is quite a road that brought me here - I would not change one part of the path! |
