Find your inner butterfly!

Dr. Ruth’s class released 47 Monarch butterflies in front of Bixby Northeast Elementary.  A grandmother of one of her students led a beautiful lesson based on butterflies, telling each student to look for their inner butterfly as well as the inner butterfly in others.  She showed several stages of the butterfly:  caterpillar, chrysalis, and emerged butterfly. They held the butterflies gently in their hands and released them into the world.  Two of the butterflies were not able to fly yet so she taught them how to hang them from the tree upside down to let their wings finish drying.  Soon they flew off too. The students cheered! The children were thrilled with such a glorious sight and so enjoyed this amazing lesson.
