Hello CI Families. I hope this finds you well. I have several items of information today regarding procedures during our school closure. First, if your child has medication at the school that you need to pick up, I will be at school this Tuesday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm so medicine can be picked up in the office. This is NOT a time to get items from lockers, books, or anything from the classroom. In fact, in an effort to keep everyone safe, no one will be allowed past the front office. After Tuesday, our building will be completely closed until the State Department of Education allows for reopening.
Our district will be providing pre-wrapped breakfasts and lunches for any BPS student in need. For our south schools, meals can be picked up daily between 8:00 am and 11:00 am at the 9th Grade Center across the street from Central Elementary. The District has compiled a Frequently Asked Questions page with information they can provide at this point. It can be accessed here: http://bixbyps.info/coronaviru... The State Board of Education meets next Tuesday, March 25th. Hopefully more answers will be provided after that meeting and further decisions can be made.
Several have asked about the band fundraiser items. Mr. Parker will contact you with this information, but feel free to email him as well. Also, during this time, IXL Math is allowing access to IXL Social Studies and Science. Students should have their login, and they can go on and do any of the lessons on their own if you'd like for them to do so. This definitely is not required, but it is a good option during this time. As for reading, Scholastic has a lot of free online activities as well that can be searched, but just having your kids read a book is always the best option.
