About Bridge the Gap:
Bridge the Gap is a grassroots movement started to financially support Bixby Public Schools. This campaign was started in May of 2016 by a group of parents that shared a vision to help our school district during the financial shortfall that continues to negatively impact our public schools today. Bridge the Gap is a special committee of the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The funds raised go directly to BPS general fund and get equitably distributed to the to school sites for materials, supplies, supports, or services that positively impact classroom learning and student success. BTG committee members are volunteers dedicated to raising funds for our schools to keep the Bixby Public School District “Simply the Best.”

To date…. BTG has raised over $300,000 to Bridge the Gap for Bixby Public Schools!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is BTG a Non-profit Organization?
Yes, BTG is a special committee of BEEF, the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation which is a 501(c)3.

Will the OK legislators continue to cut public education if they see communities stepping in and filling the financial gap?
No, State funding is not decided on private funds to schools. Many schools have received private donations to support various programs and projects.  Statewide Oklahoma elected officials have an Oklahoma Constitutional obligation to adequately fund public education.  Private donations cannot be used in the calculation of the state’s obligation.

Are BTG committee members paid for their service?
No, all BTG members are parent volunteers and receive no payments for their time or services.

Is it true Bixby Public School Administrators took a pay cut for the 2016-2017 school year?
Yes, the Bixby Board of Education approved a pay cut for district and site level administrators for the 2016-17 school year.  Administrators affected by the pay cut, including those who work at Central Administration, such as the Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer, as well as those who work at the school sites, such as principals and assistant principals, were given the option to deduct the pay cut from their 2016-17 salary or deduct the equivalent amount of the pay cut from their paychecks on a monthly basis and make it payable to the Bridge the Gap program.  All administrators opted to give the amount of their pay cuts to the BTG program.

How can I help BTG if I am unable to help monetarily?
We understand every financial situation is different. Please contact us at to volunteer at one of our fundraising events or to learn more about supporting this effort.  You can also use the link below for information or to purchase tickets:
